Math Choices are sets of activities following specific themes that emphasize important math concepts and motivational strategies. Each activity is written directly to the students for ease with small group or whole group settings. I often used these Choice activities for a whole month during small group time in my classroom; students would even do the Choice activities on rainy indoor recess! The sessions include data sheets and ask students to respond to thought-provoking math questions after completion. These Math Choices are ideal for students Grades 2-5.
Halloween Choices are so fun and motivational that students are unaware of the mathematical intensity! This unit includes many sorting and classification opportunities using Venn Diagrams and graphs along with measurement, logic, and discrete mathematics. This unit is filled with constructions that are fun but very mathematical! Students can even construct and illustrate their own counting book! Make math a priority even at Halloween time!
