Math Choices are sets of activities following specific themes that emphasize important math concepts and motivational strategies. Each activity is written directly to the students for ease with small group or whole group settings. I often used these Choice activities for a whole month during small group time in my classroom; students would even do the Choice activities on rainy indoor recess! The sessions include data sheets and ask students to respond to thought-provoking math questions after completion. These Math Choices are ideal for students Grades 2-5.
Money Choices include eight activities to motivate students learning the valuing system with coins. This set of activities includes coordinate graphing with a fun concentration game, exploring decomposition of an amount of money, logic and reasoning, and opportunities to do computation. Students will have many opportunities to see the heads and tails of each coin. There is a Canadian and a United States version of the Money Choices.
