 Estimation Folders - Kim has created a set of 15 folders that are perfect for an estimation center activity. Great for grades 1-5! Each folder is designed to give students practice estimating counts that are visually grouped. Students start by guessing how many items are on a folder, then refine their guesses by applying different strategies. Finally, students will count to compare the correct total to their estimate.
The folders are designed to be colored. Included with each folder is a generic recording sheet for student accounting. On the back of each folder is a T-Table so students will think of a "counting constant" that goes with each picture. Students record the counting relationship on the T-Table and examine the growth pattern as the T-Table is built. |
