Do you struggle with
creative and fun ways to teach science - ways to make it relevant and
real-world? After spending the day with Barbara Novelli, teachers of grades
K-5th will have a brand new attitude and excitement about teaching science!
Jerome Bruner said "Teaching
science should be like telling or reading a good story." A
good science lesson usually starts and ends with literature and to this end
many exemplary pieces of children's literature will be shared, as well as an
extensive science-based literature bibliography. Barbara's workshop will
begin from this pivotal point to give you a variety
of instructional strategies, classroom tested lessons and management tips to
support you in your science program. During the workshop you will
experience several sample science units that integrate mathematics, reading,
writing and social studies. Barbara will show you ways to make science fun
for both you and your students while teaching important content, process and
thinking skills which will translate into all aspects of your students'
learning! Don't miss this great workshop!
